Pelicans 101: Your Guide to Baseball at The Beach

Did you know Myrtle Beach has its own Minor League Baseball team?

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, the Low-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, play at Pelicans Ballpark, conveniently located across from Broadway at the Beach. And yes, the 2025 season is about to begin!

Opening Day 2025

The Pelicans kick off their 2025 season on April 4, with more than 60 exciting home games running through early September. Expect family-friendly fun, theme nights, fireworks, and nonstop baseball action.

While 2024 marked the club’s 25th anniversary, 2025 promises even more excitement as the Pelicans continue building on their rich legacy—complete with their refreshed logo, promotions, and beloved traditions.


Weekly Promotions

No two nights at Pelicans Ballpark are the same. With themed nights, giveaways, and special deals, it’s easy to make a game part of your vacation or weekly routine.

Here’s what you can look forward to each week:

  • Tuesday: $2 Tacos and $3 Tallboys – Tacos + Modelo or Corona tallboys at a steal.

  • Wednesday: Half-Price Hot Dogs – Hebrew National dogs at 50% off, and pups get free admission with a Budweiser Bowtie Deck ticket.

  • Thursday: Thirsty Thursday – $2 Bud and Bud Light cans and $3 wine.

  • Friday: Family Friday + Fireworks – The perfect combo of fun and spectacle.

  • Saturday: Sippin’ Saturdays – $2 Michelob Ultra, $3 wine, and $25 mega mug mixed drinks.

  • Sunday: Sunday Fun Day – Enjoy pre-game catch on the field (open to all ages!).

Bonus Fun for Kids:

  • Pre-Game Autographs: Kids 12 and under can get autographs before home games (Tues–Sat).

  • Post-Game Kids Run the Bases: Available after every firework game night, weather permitting.


Pelicans Ballpark: Tickets & Seating

Single-game tickets start at just $15, and there’s truly not a bad seat in the house—from behind home plate to the outfield bleachers. Specialty seating includes:

  • Luxury suites

  • The Beach Party area

  • The Riptydz Rally Deck (bar, high-top tables, great views)

  • The Clark & Addison Grille (craft beer + picnic tables)

  • Family zones with playgrounds, games, and inflatables

🎖️ Military and First Responders receive $3 off when presenting ID at the Box Office or through GovX.

🎟️ Groups of 15+ should book in advance to sit together and unlock discounted food voucher packages.

Before You Go: Helpful Tips

  • Free Parking opens 2 hours before first pitch

  • Gates open 1 hour before first pitch

  • Cashless Ballpark: All purchases must be made with card or mobile payment (Apple Pay, Google Pay)

  • Sensory-Friendly Options: In partnership with the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, sensory bags are available for fans who need them

  • Rain Policy: If a game is rained out before it becomes official (4.5 innings with the home team leading, 5 innings otherwise), your ticket can be exchanged for a future home game based on availability.

And don’t forget: Slider the Bat Dog is back! He clears bats from the field and runs a victory lap after every Pelicans win.

The Pelicans compete in the Carolina League’s South Division, squaring off against regional rivals like:

  • Charleston RiverDogs (Tampa Bay Rays)

  • Columbia Fireflies (Kansas City Royals)

  • Augusta GreenJackets

The Pelicans have won four league championships, most recently in 2016, and continue to deliver one of the best Minor League experiences around. The stadium was even named best in the league by Baseball America.

  • A diamond shape to honor the game

  • A silver accent, celebrating the recent 25th anniversary
