1. Surfside Beach Christmas Tree Lighting

Dec. 5, 2024

Time:  4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. • Lakewood Elementary School Chorus performs at 4:15 p.m. • "The Tams" will perform life music at 4:45 p.m. • The Lighting of the Christmas Tree is at 6:30 p.m. Location: Memorial Park (Surfside Dr. & N Willow Dr., Surfside Beach, SC, 29575) FREE ADMISSION

Jingle all the way to the Town of Surfside Beach for the merriest event of the year: The Christmas Tree Lighting! Santa himself will lead the way on Monday, Dec. 5, as the night sky is lit up with the most magnificent tree in town. Yet, that’s not all! Brace yourself for a chorus of beautiful voices from the Lakewood Elementary School Chorus and toe-tapping tunes from The Tams. If this isn’t enough to keep you jolly, snag a family photo with Mr. Jolly himself on his sleigh, decorate gingerbread cookies, or get your face painted as your favorite Christmas character! And, if you happen to feel a craving for food, don’t worry! Sample the most scrumptious bites from event vendors while you browse for the perfect gift to bring home. Come one, come all, and make this a night to remember with your loved ones. After all, Santa Claus, activities for the kiddos, good food, live music, shopping, and great fun are all on the menu!

2. Christmas Tour of Homes

Dec. 8, 2024

Surfside Beach is presenting the inaugural of the Christmas Tour of Homes this year. Between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on December 8, visit five homes, the inside and exterior, which will be decked out in Christmas themes! The addresses of the houses are as follows:

311 South Willow Drive, Unit A
120 14th Ave North
637 Sparrow Drive
512 13th Ave North
1215 Cedar Drive North

Tickets are $25 per person and only 100 spots will be sold. The tickets will be cash only which can be purchased at Crescent Realty, 1010 5th Avenue North, Suite 103. Once the tickets are bought, guests can visit all five houses at anytime between the given time frame. All proceeds will go towards Squeeze the Day 501 which empowers young people with entrepreneurial skills and opportunities through lemonade stands, creativity, responsibility, and a sense of purpose.

3. Surfside Beach Christmas Parade

December 14, 2024

Embark on a magical journey through the spellbinding wonderland of a classic Christmas parade. The annual family-friendly Surfside Beach Christmas Parade will take place on Ocean Boulevard in Surfside Beach at 2:00 p.m. on December 14. The parade route will begin on Melody Lane, travel north on Ocean Boulevard, turn west onto Surfside Drive, and end at Poplar Drive.  Spectators are encouraged to bring a chair and enjoy the parade participants giving out candy. Santa himself will steal the show, reminding us that the holidays are finally here! This event is free!

4. "Jack Frost" Movies Under The Stars

December 14, 2024

Bring a chair and the family to Martin Field and snuggle up with a festive flick under the stars. The annual Christmas Movie under the Stars will take place in Martin Field located at 624 Dogwood Drive, Surfside Beach, SC at 5:00 p.m. Free showing of Jack Frost along with free cocoa and popcorn. Hotdogs and beverages will be available for purchase. This event is free!

5. Breakfast with Santa

Dec. 21, 2024

The annual Breakfast with Santa will take place at the Golden Egg Pancake House located at 415 Highway 17 N, Surfside Beach, SC 29575 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Reservations required. Contact Golden Egg Pancake House at (843) 238-4923 to reserve your spot!

6. Yuletide Christmas Golf Cart Parade

Dec. 21, 2024

Get ready to decorate your golf carts in the holiday spirit for the highly anticipated annual Yuletide Christmas Golf Cart Parade at 1:00 p.m.! The parade route will start at 16th Ave S, turning onto Surfside Drive, and ending at Poplar Drive. Spectators are encouraged to bring a chair and enjoy the parade participants giving out candy. Register before 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, to be considered for sweet prizes at this family-friendly event. It's free!

7. Trolley of Christmas Lights

Dec. 20, 2024

Surfside Beach is lighting up its town in Memorial Park! Gather your friends and family for the Trolley of Christmas Lights nights. This free, family-friendly event will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on December 20. Meet in Memorial Park, grab a free cup of cocoa, and listen to the music while you wait to hop aboard the trolley. While aboard, enjoy singing Christmas carols and looking at all the Christmas lights in town. This event is free!

Shelbi Ankiewicz is a senior at Coastal Carolina University studying communication, journalism, and intercultural studies. She is originally from Montgomery, Alabama, but has resided in Myrtle Beach for 14 years. She is the Editor-in-Chief of CCU's student newspaper, The Chanticleer, and is a member of a two-year leadership program called the Wall Fellows. Shelbi enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling to major cities in the SouthEast, and attending concerts. In her free time you can find her hanging out with her frenchton bulldog, Oma, or visiting the local trails Myrtle Beach has to offer.
